Hooknhorns, I didn't get the chance to taste elk meat yet but I have had some backstrap from the muley and I think it tastes great. Also I was thinking the exact same thing about the pedestal mount, aspen and barn wood base and some gold aspen leaves on top. Awesome hunt! I've always wanted to do something like this but figured I don't know enough about this type of hunting or geography and I can't afford to hire a guide.
