Bear hunting?

I always enjoy reading the reports and progress of Minnesota bear hunters. There was lots of discussion early season, but then everything tanked about a week and a half ago? What happened? I know the season is still open.

Think I saw one picture of someone's daughter who filled a tag. Otherwise it's been very, very quiet. Tough year? Has everyone filled and moved on? Normally there are numerous pics of bears each year.

Sure lots of natural food available this year, and the weather has been a little funky. Any reports?

Available tags, and thus hunters are way down this year. Should be some good hunting in a few years.

We had six guys hunting, and not one bear seen while on stand. 10 baits working good till season started. It was an interesting year for sure, but we are not done yet. Saw a lot of berries this year, as compared to years past, and the acorns started dropping right around opening day. Im sue that didn't help matters at all.

Played some golf today in NW Minnesota, and the acorns were like a blanket in places. I once knew an old bear hunter that used to follow the acorns. He'd actually dissect a topo map to determine where the optimal oak ridges could be found, and in doing so he nearly always found a big bear honey hole!
