So is the Bass tourney on May 1st happening or not? I see a lot of people dropped out. I have a long ways to drive...(FARGO) and am not gonna drive there to go 1 on 1 with someone...ok ok to get my butt kicked!

Anyways whoever was in charge please speak up.

I need to FISH!

Happy Fishing smile.gif

Are you talking about the FM tourney/get together on Pool 4 - May 1st?

I'm not too sure if it's going to happen or not. Dan Wood was looking into it and we had a handful of people interested, but since it was a few months out it kinda fizzled a little. Maybe we can get this going again and spark some interest. I would still love to get out for some early season bassin' on pool 4!

Dan, maybe you can help us out a little. Who is still in?

Who is all interested in a little FM bass tourney on May 1st on pool 4? If not a tournament, maybe a bass'n get-together... Mike and I are planning to fish that day regardless, the more the merrier!

I think I am going to pass - in reading the other posts about how crowded it gets it doesn't seem like much fun to me. Will have to wait for another opportunity....Is it that crowded during the week too?

Can I follow you two around? smile.gif

I would love to get down there for this, assuming the weather was decent. I have never been down that way, so I don't have a clue of where to go and would probably end up lost.

If I get down there prior to May 1 and learn my way around, count me in. Otherwise, I'm going to have to wait until June and have you guys come up North, where the good fishing is wink.gif.

Mike and I will be out at the Wabasha landing for anyone that is interested in getting together for some early season bass fishing... May 1st - 6:30 a.m.

Hawgtide, you should get down here with that boat of yours. You could run the backwaters real easy on that smile.gif...

Only problem is I would get lost... I need a GPS on it.

Actually, I just found out that May 1 is not a good day for me. The wife has made plans for a garage sale. I told her she could make plans from November until May 15th, after that I'm already booked. smile.gif

Have fun, and good luck. Be forewarned, if BigMike catches any 19" plus fish, you will never hear the end of it!!! smile.gif

Hawgtide,

LOL! You and Ebass are always making me laugh. Now that I have a few of those 19+ inchers under my belt, you won't hear a peep until I catch a 21+ incher. Ok maybe a little peep wink.gif.

Sorry you can't make it. After opener, I'll keep an eye out for you up around monti when I get out wading.

Good luck with the garage sale!

Early on I thought this would be great.

Well, then I came to my senses, and I have a lot of stuff to get done in April and May.
I have several projects going on habitat restoration and improvements up at my Dads farm, and this is the time we need to be working on it. Then toss is the dump I gotta get done at home, and things will be plenty busy.
I just cannot swing it.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
