MBRB Hunt Winners Drawn

I have drawn for Oakdale again. After taking two deer on three sits last year, along with seeing a huge old buck, I'm pretty excited to get the chance to hunt in my own backyard again.

Who else is hunting the metro this year?

I got shorewood 3rd alternate. so hopefully some guys drop out and i get notified that im a hunter.

I am Primary at West Coon Rapids Dam. Last time I hunted there was my best season ever. I'm also hoping to replicate a successful season.

RK, let me know if you get into the hunt. I've done Shorewood several times.

Guess that serves me right for not signing up last year. I was so disappointed by the Little Canada hunt I had I didn't bother. I was hoping to get it this year, and Pigs Eye--my favorite hunt.

How many hunts did you apply to Brad? I've never been left out. The only year I've ever not hunted MBRB is the year I didn't send in my app.

I got drawn as a 2nd alternate at the Pigs Eye hunt. I'm not sure if I'll be able to hunt since I'm an alternate, but I hope it works out. I've heard that it's a pretty decent hunt. I've never done an MBRB before, so I'm excited to see what it's all about.

First year. Qualified for ss hunts but applied for only regulars. Not drawn as a primary but an alternative. In the years past that you've guys have got drawn , are there usually guys that back out or don't show up? Or are the mandatory meetings usually full? I'm thinking of going to the meeting anyways to see if someone or some guys back out. I'm the last alternate but am still thinking of going. Or should I not and save my $10.

Seems there's almost always those that can't hunt their assigned dates for whatever reason. Most alternates get the chance to hunt at least a few days.

$10 for the CHANCE at a great hunting opportunity? A pretty good deal if you ask me.

I totally agree with Don. I've been hunting MBRB for at least 7 years and I've always hunted. Some hunts are very accomodating with the alternates. I would definately show up. If nothing else, its a down payment on how everything works.

WHat hunt did you get drawn for Sumo?

Last alternate bald eagle. 6 primaries, 4 alternates. Fri-sun hunt.

Had our orientation meeting last night, and geez, there were piles of no-shows. Everyone there got to hunt at least an extra weekend, most got to hunt all 4 time periods.

Can't imagine why you'd even apply for these great hunts if you weren't going to accept the opportunity.

Maybe they had a tough time passing the hunt test?

I'm always surprised how many people don't show up. Especially considering the popularity of these hunts. There were more than 100 people who did not get drawn for hunts and yet we have people who don't even show up for a limited draw sharpshooter hunt like Oakdale.
