Leech Lake knife.

Ok I've had a leech lake knife for a few years. Every year I try to contact them to get it serviced with not much luck. Last year I had called and left messages in November, only to be contacted late Dec on my way back from Upper Red while driving and lost the cellphone call. Needless to say the knifes are great, but customer service is very lacking.

Does anyone know of a contact or way to get customer service. My friend and I both have knife and would like to get them serviced. I tried the HSOforum e-mail to get a delivery failure. I tried the phone number with no response.

I think the original guy that founded the company died, and there were problems with keeping it going.

At least I recall hearing that.

Here is response in case others were wondering from custom cutlery.

Yes we do produce the Leech Lake Knives and we can certainly sharpen them back to the original awesome edge. We can also refurbish the handle while it is in for sharpening but if you have a broken knife then that warranty issue would need to be handled by Mike or Lisa Canney.

We do sharpen and refurbish for free but ask you send enough to cover the return postage if you are mailing it in. If you are in Iowa you can always drop off or pick up at our store in Amana Iowa or at the knife shop in Marengo.

Got it back a few days ago. Wow they sharpened it really nice, but they also refurbished the handle to like new for nothing. Glad i found out about custom cutlery doing the work.

Thanks for the update - this was one of my concerns when I bought the knife. Glad to hear I am not going to be left high and dry if something needs work. I am taking my Leech Lake Knife up to Leech Lake this weekend, hopefully it will get well used!

Has anybody tried to sharpen their Leech Lake Knife with the Work Sharp belt system? I have had good luck with ordinary knives. But with the double edge blade I don't know how that would work.

I did mine this summer with the Worksharp. It did a great job on the front blade, but not so good on the little tip part of the back of the blade.
