My yard's too big for an underground system so I'm still dragging the hose. Can anyone recommend a decent sprinkler? I've bought expensive ones and cheap ones and they're all pieces of #%*+! None of them last. Any help? Thanks

Do you mean it's too big as far as cost? If you can get water there with a hose you get get it there underground.

Aside from that, what I used to do before I put my system underground, is mount a Hunter 360 degree rotating head on a long spike that I could push into the ground where ever I needed to and feed it with a hose. They are easy to adjust and they last almost indefinitely when they don't have dirt getting into them from the ground.

Before I had my sprinkler system installed, I wanted a sprinkler that could throw water the furthest. The best I found were Gilmour 8500-sq ft Impulse Sled Sprinkler from Lowes.

I purchased 2 of those and 1/2 inch hoses. Those suckers can throw some water.

What do you mean "too big"?

Cost wise?

Do it in sections. Get the areas up around the house installed. Just make sure you start out with a large enough controller and lay the ground work from the beginning (controller, wiring).

Sorry, I meant 3/4 inch hoses to go with those Gilmour's.
