Metro muskie report

Was curious how everyone has been doing so far this year, the high water has made things interesting. Made it out today perfectly calm water most the morning 2 follows off the water before by 930 before the zoo got to bad.

SLOW for me. 38" opening night and only one follow since.

Had a hot opener. 3 follows, 3 strikes, one high-30's. Today was rough. Four hours on the water, no follows, but the thickest/heaviest 30 inch northern I've ever seen.

My hands/arms haven't quite gotten used to the gear yet. Ibuprofen helps

I've fished pretty casually for skis 3 times. Maybe a total of 8 hours. I've seen 4 individuals with 2 follows and one hooked for 4 seconds. I feel very fortunate to have seen fish every time out.

North metro on tuesday, 2 follows and one blow up. Water temp topped around 77. Weather looks fantastic as I type this!

Went out tonight the pike were biting the muskie were not still had a fun night.

Made it out this AM for 4 hours of fishing 2 follows one was a pig and a bonus pike all within the first hour of fishing then things got slow

Only made it out once last week after work for about 3 hours nothing to show for it, got a nice case of tendinitis so might wait a couple weeks till I go back out

Terrible for me. Only caught the one on opening night so far. Had one on last weekend . Lost. Can't even get a follow. Forest last night till midnight. 1 bass. No follows.

I have made it out twice in the new boat, had a nice fish flash on the figure 8 the first trip, and a blow up on top water on the second.

No hook ups yet, but it's nice to be on the water.

Finally broke my six week dry streak since opener of just follows. Had a 42 incher come in super hot, go through a full figure 8, and then crush my bucktail as I slowed in the turn.

Sharpen those hooks!

Made it to Tonka first time this year tonight, I remember why I never go there should have went out when it was still no wake, no luck and I lost one of my favorite baits. Second time this year I think my leader swivel caught in a guide and snapped right there.

Water temps on Johanna yesterday were 78. No luck there aside from northerns.

White bear last night. Nothing seen. Caught in huge squall with rain gear in the car of course. No pike . No bass. Left at 10.

I haven't hit bear in a while. I usually go there 10-15 times a year. Any other trips?

Pounded Forest the last 2 days and finally had some luck last night...my partner got a 40 on the deep weed edge on a Cowgirl. I'm headed to Minnetonka tonight for the first time and feeling pretty intimidated after hearing what a zoo it can be.

A small 33"er last evening on west rush. A black/white two blade buck tail did the trick. First one of the year, so it's good to be off the snide.

Water was very green and swampy and it was at the very end of twilight/dark dark. I tried to get a picture but it was so dark the didn't show up in the cradle. (Fishing solo)

Need another cold streak. Got 3 from shore in 8 hours of fishing. Cant get a follow in the boat to save my life.
