The issue is that once and great awhile i get a load buzzing noise. it goes away after i shut off the truck and open the door. shutting off the radio doesnt work either to get the noise to stop. but after i shut the truck off and open the door turn on the radio sounds normal. any ideas

no dont think so. I know the speaker only had 2 wires. and I can hear sounds through the speaker. Only thing I can come up with is maybe a grounding issue.looked at some more yesterday used some more tape to pad the outside of the hole that speaker goes in seen if that helps any. Plus dont have any money into the speaker so if anything might have break down and spend some money on it.

I haven't mess around with Bose speakers for a while (although did recently buy some QC20 earphones). But I know years back when I looked at buying some Bose car speakers that were part of a Bose package, they were 0.5 ohm speakers not intended to work with any other system.

A typical car speaker is 4 ohms. If the Bose speakers are still using that very low impedance design it's possible you could damage your factory (assuming non-Bose) system.

ok so what does that mean? not that smart comes to audio stuff

It means some bose speakers are weird and will only work with other bose equipment. If you hook one of the weird speakers to a regular radio, it won't work right.

It's imperative that the proper Ohm-matched speakers be used with the system, same as in a home stereo system. Speakers must also be properly phased or you have probs right away...check ohms and impedance which should be on the back of the speaker, and total watt input, and your system output for speaker suggested ohms, and power output (Watts) then match to the system. Improper matching may result in immediate damage to speakers and/or the system.

Purely as a snide aside, BOSE stuff is terribly overrated and obscenely over priced. You really don't NEED to try BOSE stuff in your old truck.

I bought a pair of QC20 earphones about two weeks ago. One of the best purchases I've ever made. My Sennheiser HD-580s sound a little better, but the noise cancelling of the BOSE is best on the market, bar none, and they're far more comfortable than any other type of in-ear/earbud style phones I've tried.

I highly recommend them.
