Utility Shed

Recommended Posts

If they are anything like the old tin ones, just be sure that whatever you do, that the shed is fastened to something solid. Nothing like a wind gust from a thunderstorm to hit it just right and up it goes and out into the yard or street.

There was a thread about this within the last month or so and it had quite a bit of information. Search and maybe you can find it.

I did do a search but put quotes around my search string and it didn't bring back much...this must be the one you're talking about.

Thanks

I ended up buying a resin shed (Keter brand) and screwed it on to a wooden platform I built for my duck shed. To level it and give it some stability in high winds. It's stood up to some high winds and I'm planning to anchor every corner down soon with metal stakes that bolt onto the wood platform. That's the route I'd recommend.

has anyone ever compared prices for buying a wood kit shed purchasing all supplies separately? $700-$1,000 seems insane to me for 10 x 10. Wouldn't materials b a lot cheaper purchased separately, 2 x 4's, plywood, etc.?

I was wondering the same thing, now I'm going to have to price it out.

I built my own shed, Mine is 10' wide x 12' long made out of 2x4's and steel siding with a 3/4" plywood floor. If I had to do it again I would have went 14' wide x 16' long, for a little more room. I also ran electrical out to it, and I think I have $450.00 into it. It's good to have a dad that can get left over steel for free. just told him what size shed I was looking at building and 6 months later he had all the trim and steel I needed.

Sorry doesn't help you much but if it were me I would definitely build one vs. buying one.
