filet knife handle question

I wasn't sure if this was the right group to put this in, but I wasn't sure where else to put it.

I'm working on a filet knife for my brother in law, but I need some small diameter copper rod.

Does anyone know where I could get 3/16" and I think 3/8".

I need this to make the pins to hold the scales on.

I had thought about using wood dowels, but I don't think I can get a dowel that small.

Cuz I found a gajillion copper rods of the requested diameter on the Bay of E and Etsy after a quick google shopping search.

Yes, sorry I was hoping to find some locally. I can order some, but was hoping to be able to go grab it and finish the night.

Not sure where "locally" is, but maybe a welding supply place?

Second guess would be electrical supply. Heavy solid wire or ground rod type stuff.

I picked up some copper rod stock at my local well-stocked hardware store. I use it to drive pins out of guns grips for changeover.
