I talked to the land owner where we are going to be hunting down by Houston and he said the snow is going and he is seeing birds in the fields and Tom's are strutting already! Hoot Hoot!

I have been seeing a few birds west of Stillwater, they looked good and a lot of the snow is gone.

Saw a bigger flock last weekend off I-90 towards Albert Lea. Couple of Toms in the mix and one really nice strutter. The hens were feeding aggressively and largely ignoring Mr. Puffy.

This seems to support my thinking that southern birds are ahead of schedule compared to northern birds.

Saw several strutters around Princeton this morning.

I finally saw some birds moving around my house today. Forest Lake area.

Saw a bunch out and about here in the metro yesterday. A few strutters among them. Still pretty big flocks.

Group of about 8 toms and 20 hens have been cleaning out the leftovers out of the food plot. They were all standing on the driveway when I took this a week ago. They're still there every morning and night and usually all day long on and off.
