Cool story but I thought that I had always heard Edgar Hetteen was the maker of the first Polaris.

It is like the video stated. All three worked together in the 1940 - 50s. Edgar left and went to Thief River Falls and founded Arctic Cat in about 1960, he later went on to start a few more companies most notably ASV.

I meet him a couple of times in the 1980s and later in the 2000s. Quite a guy.

David Johnson is an incredible person. Still very prominent in the community and still visits Polaris in Roseau at least 3 times a week to see what is going on and like the video shows, still gets out and enjoys riding. It's pretty special to have known him personally over the years and listen to his stories and to still see him active in the community and the company. A true inspiration and a class act!
