MidCoast
Well, a long story short, I just bought a Big Buddy Heater. I usually use the Sunflower heaters. Anyways, on the back of the box, there are so many recommended hoses to connect the Buddy to a 20 lb propane tank. Which cable (I prefer 10 to 12 ft) do you use and do you use a filter as well? Seems like only some require a filter while others don't? Weird.... Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.
fishwater
You want a hose with the inline regulator tank side and quick connect heater side.

Savage Brewer
black hose requires a filter, but it is more flexible than the green hose from what I remember.
ozzie
get the black hose self screwing and a filter!! I have been using this combo for a good 5+ years and have had no problems unless it is the start of a season then I need a new filter and starts right up!!! I have heard alot of issues with others using the different combos of quick connect and regulator...Good Luck
highlife4me
Been using the hose with the quick coupler and regulator with no filter for several years. No problems at all. If you decide to go with the other hose and a filter make sure you have an extra filter and the tools to change it when on the lake. I have been on a couple fishing trips with friends that had dirty filters and had to cut the trip short due to no heat.
FIRECAT
Like the other guys said 12ft Quick connect hose with regulator no filter required. Just prime the hose (do this OUTSIDE) by pushing the plunger in with a screwdriver. Mine usually starts on the first or second try.
