Scott O.
I've been trying to use my Aqua Vu Micro camera on the ice and I was wondering if there is any easier way to unspool the line from the wire spool. Right now, I have the spool off and have to unwind the wire by hand to get it down. Has anyone figured out a quicker, better way to get the wire off the spool? silverbulletguy
I've wondered that myself. I think there has to be a way to at least use a bigger spool but it would then take up more space and wouldn't fit in your pocket. Currently I just hold it sideways and it seems to peel off the spool a little faster.
cavalierowner
I'm interested in that too. But the bigger deal for me was that the base would fall off when I was wrapping up the line, so I finally got disgusted with that and glued the base on so it won't come off. Time will tell if that was a bad idea.
FishinFools
I bit on the Mirco early and felt the pain of a product development process. (much like I just bit on the Fishphone...so far LOVE IT! No pain at all!) I thought the micro was the perfect answer for my needs. But it lacked practical tactility. So I made this. And gave it to another HSO member, who honorably did pay shipping. And he got a home made frisbee camera compass.
RebelSS
I used mine twice, and that problem drove me nuts. It's for sale.
Scott O.
I've got my Micro connected to my HB 45 with the Pro-Snake camera mount, which works pretty good. When I'm using it, I have the spool off and plug it into the screen and wind the line down. The armband with a bigger spool is an interesting idea. Does it free spool or do you have to pull the line out?
Vitreus
I just turn it so the spool side is facing down and let gravity do the work, controlling the speed of fall with my fingers.
Carl Bjorgen
Yeah it is tedious, even when you fish fairly shallow. You could probably design some inexpensive reel system with a used line spool, but it would require you to disconnect the camera from the unit every time because it would pull on both ends.I just drilled a couple holes in my plastic base and mounted to a piece of wood big enough not to fall down a 6" hole.It gives you something more substantial to hold onto when you're cranking it up or peeling it off.I lay it in a small plastic box to keep it off the ice. The box is big enough to pull the line up and just lay it in the box when I want to move or get a fish on the line. I can also close the lid so it is all self contained and not a big production when I am in mobile mode.I'd post a picture, but you probably already get the idea.
