SM plastic handle...

handle broke after drilling about 12 holes Saturday. anyone know where I can get a replacement? any luck getting SM to replace there plastic handle? thanks.

You might try H2 outfitters also, depending on where you live. They are very helpful there as well.

Replace your blades while you're at it, you should not need to apply any downward pressure if the blades are sharp. That's usually the reason the handles break.

I would think that or something had damaged the handle before going out and drilling. I have had a SM with plastic handles for a few years and I am pretty hard on my equipment.

I may be reading this wrong, but i think he is saying he drilled 12 holes with his SM and the handle broke. (total)

If it is that new, they will take care of you. If your saying this is an older SM and after drilling 12 holes, on that day, it broke...then a replacement would probably be your responsibility. If its newer though, give SM a call, they take care of their customers.

bought this auger new last season. somewhere around 12 to 15th hole it snapped on one side. new blade this year.I have friends that have been using theirs much longer with no problems so I thought maybe mine is bad from the factory type thing.

I broke a handle a couple years ago on a solo. I called the factory and they sent me one. I think it cost me about $30 or so. Only took about 5 minutes to fix. Pretty easy.

yes! stopped up at h2O picked up a replacement handle

and back in business...lot less hassle then trying to get SM to warranty it...affordable too!
