Anderson Silva Leg Break!!!

Recommended Posts

That's a hard break for Silva...in more ways than one! Unfortunately, that is probably his last fight. Sounds like Rhonda dominated her fight too. I'm glad my wife did not know this stuff during our formative years! I need my arms in one piece for fishing and hunting. All I got was the silent treatment and sometimes this was a blessing.

My thoughts on last night:

Weidman/Silva - It was unbelievable, too bad we didn't get to see a longer fight from Weidman and Silva, but maybe with the minimal damage he sustained there will be a quick turn-around for him to face Vitor Belfort.

Ronda/Tate - Ronda has shown increased athleticism in every fight she's had in her career, and the only surprise in that fight was that the fight lasted to the 3rd round. I have no doubt that Ronda could go a full 5, Sara McMann had better prepare well for this February!

Browne/Barnett - Also, I was not on the Travis Browne bandwagon, but the dude's definitely got enough TDD and power from various positions to finish anyone in the HW division. I don't know what chance I'm giving him against Werdum, but if he is successful, I can see those elbow strikes giving Cain Velasquez some worries once he's ready to defend the belt again.

All in all 168 delivered tremendously and was a great way to end the year. 2014 should be a big year and I wonder what surprises there will be.

Weidman said in the post fight show he might need to get his knee scoped. But sounds like he'll still be able to fight by this summer. Weidman vs. Vitor Belfort should be awesome!

I've become a big fan of Travis Brown. I don't think he'll have any problems with Fabricio Werdum.

Everyone keeps saying Silva's career is over. I kinda' think it is too. However, that's certainly not the way he wants to go out. I could totally see him having 1 more send off fight against a cream puff, probably down in Brazil.

My Thoughts:

Silva/Weidman - No Showboating for Silva this time. Weidman nearly finished him in the 1st and I'm beating Weidman would have finished him eventually. Silva is dangerous though....Guess we'll never know!

Browne/Barnett - Browne is an athletic freak for his size. He's strung a few very nice wins in a row, and I don't really hold his loss against Big Foot against him since he injured his leg during the fight.

Rousey/Tate - Can somebody please KO Rousey? PLEASE! Rousey is above and beyond better than any girl currently signed by the UFC.

I'd like to see Rhonda fight someone that knows how to control a fight with striking and has a high fight IQ. She relies so much on her Judo that she's open to someone who can hold an opponent off with jabs. A female version of Rory McDonald for instance. Staying out of the clinch is key with her.

Anderson should be given a role in Brazil similar to what Matt Hughes has, Vice President of Athlete Development and Government Relations. I think he has one fight left though with Roy Jones Jr. If the UFC could include that on a pay per view they would rake in millions.

Browne is my new favorite heavy weight. He demolished Barnett's jaw with the knee and then crushed it further with elbows. He needs another few fights before meeting Cain though.

Browne is ready for Velasquez now! The question is, is Velasquez ready? Isn't he sidelined with an injury right now? Sounds like Browne is fighting Fabricio Werdum next though, in a #1 contender match.

I would love for nothing more than to see Rousey get KO'd. Unfortunately I don't see that happening anytime soon. Maybe if she didn't try too hard to act like a female dog, she would be more likable.

After KO wins over Vitor Belfort and Loyota Machida, Chris Weidman will be fighter of the year in 2014!

She doesn't care about being likeable, if you knew the back story on Tate you wouldn't be cheering for her, the lead up to their first Strike Force fight she ripped everything about Rousey then got her silly-me kicked Tate is not Ms congeniality like everyone thinks.

It was hard to see Anderson go down like that, I am by no means a fan of his but he was a great fighter and is always tough to watch one's career end like that.
