motley man
Deer season has been the worst I have ever had! Only saw 2 deer rifle season, and 2 muzzy season so far. No chance for a shot at any. Been seeing tracks every morning but all from the night before. Anyone else seeing this or just lack of deer? Weather has not helped at all either! sportfish
The weather has been great ! I want cold for muzz season , that gets them moving to the food ! We start seeing deer coming to the food plots and corn fields around 3:30 - 4:00 but the bucks have not came in much . Some times there is up to 20 deer befor dark
maros91
I work about 7 miles west of you and have notice the deer are really in the pines and evergreens to get away from the snow. Also been seeing some deer right towards dark coming to picked corn fields.
Sinker
I hunt in NW Wi. Was skunked during the regular firearms season so I was up hunting with the muzzleloader last weekend. No corn fields or plots around, just browse. I found more tracks in the fresh snow than I expected I would but never saw a deer from the stand. Jumped a few does that were bedded down when walking to the stand one afternoon. Long story short, they were moving well after it got dark. Where I live, a guy a few houses down feeds corn to the deer and even there they don't show up until dusk. Good Luck.
Gordie
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I noticed a lot of deer movement before dark in places I have not seen deer all year.

All from 1:55pm to 5:33pm, not a minute went by where I could not see a deer from my stand. They are feeding heavy right now, get on the food!Best thing that can happen late season is bellow zero temps
harvey lee
Very tough ml season for me. The woods I am hunting I also archery hunt in and that has been awesome these past few years but I finally said the heck with the ML season last Thurs.I hunted there approx 8 days without seeing a deer and I know they are in this woods.Time to chase eyes. First time in probably 25 years I had to throw a tag away.
Musky Buck
For my scouting it's been, heavily pressured rifle areas nothing until after darkness, maybe some shadows. So you better pray and move in as tight to where they bed as possible or forget it and even then your chances are slim. In my less pressured rifle areas the deer are patterning very well, in the cornfields by 4:15ish or 4:45 depends some but either way they are out in plenty of light which is ideal because it seems the first deer feeding, the next deer to come sure like to stop on the edge, look over the field, before determining all is safe so lets join them. I would think the further away from roads or potential trouble the better chance to see some in shooting light, but I've been seeing a lot of post rifle deer, more than any year I can remember and our deer numbers aren't high by no means, I think the early onset of official winter and no pressure is why, man there's a 10 point buck that has made it tough to sleep since rifle, been near my stand for 3 weeks now almost every night, huge body solid 10 point rack, wanted my wife to try to get him muzzleloading, can't wait to see what he looks like at 5.5 years old if he hangs around next fall and survives this winter. Thought he was standing by a fawn one night, put the binocs on the fawn and it had 5 points lol, a yearling buck, my god that buck dwarfed that little runt.
