Polaris Ranger - ice castle tongue weight

Just so you know, if you go on a plowed path you can use the tongue jack to hold the front up (assuming it has a wheel). I'm not recommending it, but it can be done. That is a big house, and I think your main issue will be wear and tear on the machine from pulling so much weight. I would wait and use a truck.

I pull an 8x17 with John Deere Gator 825i, no problems and my machine has similar specs as the Ranger. I guess I did have to replace a rear wheel bearing when I hit 1800 miles but the gator has worked hard for the 1800 miles so I'm not complaining. That's the only problem I've had with the Gator other than the drive belt which made it to 2000 miles. I've probably jinxed myself now, but I say go for it those utv's are made for abuse.

I have a 6.5 X 14 Ice Castle. Tongue weight is 290 lbs so yours must be somewhere over 300 lbs. Mine pulls fine with my Ranger HD. The HD has the heavy duty self leveling rear suspension so when I first hook up it will sag a little but as soon as I get rolling it will level itself back up.

My 8x20 double axle dreamshak (steel frame with aluminum walls and ceiling) is pulled with the 06 Pol 800 with the suspension bars.

This set up works great and have no problems pulling it HOWEVER the first time using this wheeler with the 6.5x12ft wheeled house the factory receiver housing broke. Had to bolt a 2in receiver under the factory location and it's worked perfect. The previous wheeler a 02 700 had an aftermarket bolt under 2in receiver mount.

Pulled the 20 footer on the ice without snow and without chains last Winter and it did ok.

There should be a decal right on the reciever hitch of your Ranger that specifies the max towing capacity/tounge weight etc. As long as you dont exceed that and use LOW range 4x4 you will be just fine. You can run some extra air in the tires and make sure your rear shocks are in the outboard mounting position and your springs are set on the stiffest setting.
