Mud run/obstacle course

Can anyone reccommend a mud run that isn't quite as demanding as the 'Tough Mudder' or 'Go Commando'? We'er trying to get together a group of mixed ages and we'er looking for something? I've been on the net without much luck...anyone know of anything? Thanks.

I've been looking for the same thing. We have a few people at work who want to do one together next summer. We did the TC 5K this year as a group but want to up the game a little for next year. However, we aren't up for something super crazy. Thinking something in the 5k distance.

We did The Mud Games in Blaine and Hugo, they have a short course that's 11/2 miles or the 5k. We did the short course the first time to try it out and then the long course at Hugo. It was tough but definitely not as intense as some of the others.

The Mud Games looks like a good option. It might be a little easy for someone who is in good shape and atheletic but it should be doable for those that might not be.

If I find anything else I'll post it. So far most that I have found haven't released any info for 2014 races yet so it might be a waiting game until races get announced this spring.

Warrior Dash at Afton Alps on July 12th. I don't know how this compares to other races since it's the only one I've done so far. 5k race with the hills being the real obstacle, all the others you can go around if you simply can't handle them. I didn't think it was anything too tough. Sign up on Cyber Monday to save about 50%. (got that last part in an email this morning).

I did Warrior Dash in Afton Alps last year, it was amazing. This run involves a lot of up hill and down hill running. It starts out with about a .75 miler up a black diamond ski hill. It was so much fun. I already signed up to run on July 12th. Remember, its July, running later in the day is going to be a lot more hotter. It takes on average about an hour to run it. At the finish line, trade in your timing chip for a cold beer. Also, signing up for the St Paul Tough Mudder on July 19th. See you there.. The Perch..

Someone at my office found the Hit and Run 5k and a bunch of us signed up for it. If you've seen the show Wipeout, its basically like that over a 5k. You do 7 obstacles like you see on the show. Should be fun.

The race is on May 10th and I think its $35/person although Groupon supposedly had a coupon so you may be able to look into that.

For race details google Hit and Run 5k.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
