Transplanting trees

My wife and I have been working on a large rock garden in the back yard. We're planning on transplanting a few of our evergreen trees into the rock garden in the next few days.

Is this a safe time of year to transplant trees?

I have a tree mover to help us move the trees, and the guy says we should be okay. Two blue spruce that are about 6 feet tall, and another pine that's about 14-15 feet tall.

I would think so. never killed a pins....evergreen from transplanting yet. make sure it gets water though.

perfect time of year for your plan. Space em out, before you know it they'll be monsters.

I had someone claim that you should try and plant it so that what part is north now is to the north when transplanted. have no clue if that is true but you can't lose much by paying attention to it.
