heat shield 2002 F150

Recommended Posts

I managed to knock the heat shield loose and I am wondering if I should bother to straighten it out and put it back. Looks like it belongs behind the muffler where the pipe goes up over the rear axle. Flimsy thing and I can't see any holes in it or brackets to attach it. Is it worth screwing around with? I plan on keeping the truck for a few more years. As 160K on it.

Thanks for your time.

Tom

If you are referring to the tin shield that normally attaches to the box itself, if you can, just grab some sheet metal screws, and zap it back up there. Make new holes, then it will stay in place.
