Working out forearms

I saw a device at the gym were there is a weight with a length of rope tied to a rod. Had no idea what that was for so I asked. I was told you roll it up and it works the forearms. Does anyone do forearm specific routines or do they get a workout with bicep routines?

I don't do isolated forearm exercises. They get worked in so many different ways when doing everything else it typically isn't necessary, unless someone is really trying to achieve popeye arms like Bartman... grin

Back, chest, biceps, triceps, shoulders, even some leg stuff the forearms are getting hit.
