MUSKY18
Was looking at a mock scrape making kit, with the scent and drip dispenser and wondering if anyone uses them and if they have any luck with them?
Bear55
I've had some luck with mock scrapes, never really found one product that outshined the other. I think best thing you can do is pick a good location that has a history of scrapes or is in a high traffic location. After that the deer can take care of the rest, I just get them going and they take over. Nothing better than the real thing.
sticknstring
Yep, don't worry about fancy scents. Pick a high-traffic area, make sure you have a good chest-high live licking branch, clear the leaves, take a leak in it, & hang a camera. Done. Bear55
Yep forgot the take a leak part. I've used scents before too but some of my better mocks have been just plain old Bear55 "buck scent" in the scrape. I've also found that the first year they mostly get hit my young bucks and does. After that the big boys seem to move in and check them out a little more.

BuckmasterG
I just posted a pretty lengthy write up about my experience with mock scrapes this year in this topic/thread Scents Hope this helps, Good Luck!-BM
Bear55
Ok I gotta ask, what do ya use for doe in heat then? lol! To be honest I try and find a real doe. I don't bother with the doe in heat stuff.
SmellEsox
I don't know if you guys follow Midwest Whitetail at all, but there was a MN guy on there that makes a mock scrape and hangs a scent dripper early in September. He then hangs a camera by it. He said by doing it early it gets the deer checking them out early out of curiosity or whatever. It is a way he finds out what kind of bucks are using the area. Apparently it works for him.
FISHINGURU
Make your own scrape and pee in it, deer will start using it and will become a real scrape in no time.
