merkman
Got a little inspired by the dorkfish build along so I figured it was time to get my decoys from last year a little closer to completion. Got 3 more finned and leaded today... The first one cracked and split the entire bottom off while finning so I sanded it flat and made the "Flying V" It is weighted heavy and it will be a screamer!!! It sits and swims nice. The next 2 went a little better.. They are weighted much lighter and swim nice and slow. Now I just have to get the crayons out and give them some color!!! . . Archerysniper
A barbed decoy, that's how you hold them long enough
PGF
Those have a really cool shape to them! I especially like the middle one, can't wait to see some color. I think I might invest in an airbrush this year, I kind of feel like I AM using crayons sometimes!
Dorkfish
Hahaha well I do recommend not using any paints from createx. I have had amazing luck with spectra paints that you can buy from michaels
PGF
Thanks dorkfish, that is good to know. I have had terrible luck getting paint to stay on for any length of time so far, i started putting shellac on my latest, think that will work? Dorkfish
I just use rustloeum clear coat for a base than to to a flat white. Others use a sealer of sorts like shellac but so far I haven't had any problems because when I finish a decoy I put 2-3 coats of that clear coat over it so its and shiny
