Silly question

Please forgive me for asking a silly question- I recently moved into a house in Stillwater. We have a deck that would be an excellent place to practice shooting down to the ground as if I were in a treestand. My question is would it be legal for me to practice shooting from my deck into my backyard? Thanks in advance for any kind of feedback.

Used to shoot in my back yard in Stillwater years ago. Don't believe it's been outlawed there, but a quick call to the local Cop Shop should clear up your question in a hurry.

Exactly what Don Bo said......each city has different ordinances in regards to "discharging a weapon within city limits".

Yeah what Don said. Some cities say a firearm is something that fires a projectile and they will throw your archery equipment into that category.

When I lived in the country, I did all my prectice from the roof of 1 of my sheds. great spot to get the bow shooting rigght.

As far as in town shooting, as stated above, the police station would be the place to check.

many towns do not allow any typw shooting in town, not even a BB gun.

Projectiles are banned within the city limits of Stillwater. It is unlawful to shoot any type of projectile including: guns, BB-guns and bow and arrows.
