eyeguy 54
Forgot to mention this. If you are new to making salsa do not use an aluminum pot to cook the salsa mix! Use graniteware or stainless steel.
OnAFly
Why no aluminum?
Rick G
The salsa will end up with a real metallic funny taste to it. Like eyeguy said, stone wear or stainless for salsa making.
eyeguy 54
aluminum is reactive and you might get a bit of an off taste cooking the tomatoes because of the acid in them. Granitware and steel are non reactive. I just learned this recently.

flipper
We have been using two huge aluminum pots for over 15 years for our award winning salsa, no problems, no metalic taste detectable. They each hold roughly 4 gallons.

SkunkedAgain
I just made my first-ever batch of salsa last night, a recipe from the Pioneer Woman HSOforum. No pots needed, just the food processor. Pretty outstanding stuff
