Prime Rib on Weber smoker/Charcoal

Recommended Posts

Hello all!! I normally don't post on this forum, but typically keep on eye on different recipes to use for the family. I have company this week, so I picked up a couple of 3lb Prime Ribs to cook on my Weber smoker(homemade) smoker. I plan on getting the temp hot to sear and then back off the heat and use the indirect to finish it off. Any tips are appreciated. I'm also looking for a rub to put on the outside of it. I'm looking to do a different rub on each just for fun. Looking for a couple of good rubs. Who's got a good one?? Thanks everyone!!

Can't comment on a prime rib, but I cooked a 2 lb bone-in ribeye last weekend and it turned out fabulous. Simple olive oil brushing and Montreal SS rubbing for a couple hours, and then moving back and forth between high heat and low heat to sear and cook. Nursed it for about 15 minutes that way and took it off to rest. Easily one of my best in years. Good luck with the PR.
