Treated Plywood vs. Treated Plywood?

I'm not a contractor but can there be much difference between Home Depot treated plywood at $34 and a building supply house at $46? Both look terrible, wet and warped. I looked everywhere for Advantech but the closest is 100 miles away in Coon Rapids Lowes. I can get TL Top Notch but looking at some builders site it not nearly as good, that could be personnal opinion though because the specs look similar. I imagine plywood will have to be run across the 2 ft floor beams leaving a seam in the middle as opposed to Advantech that can go sideways, right?

There are specs that have to be followed for making ply,so many voids alowable,so many plys so much glue. The cheap stores are just as good as the higher priced places.Treated is NOT structural, cant be used as flooring.UNless specifically stated and that is few and far between.

When I need it I will dig through a whole stack and get the best looking finished sides.

Check out MDO plywood at lumber yard. Won't find that at Menards or Home Depot. I used that for the flooring and decks in my jon boat. The wood was seal coated before it was installed though.

LRG- what special coated fasteners are you talking about? I can't use just regular tapping screws with treated? You've got me so sold on Advantech that its driving me nuts I can't get it here. Did you use the 450 grade or 250? Driving to the cities makes it real expensive. Marine grade at Menardsss is $69.99.

MDO would be terrible for a floor on a fish house. Once its wet it swells and falls apart.

Treated plywood is typically a CDX that is pressure treated. Every unit of CDX I've ever seen has the warp to it. Its the nature of that product due to how its put together. I used 5/8" treated plywood for the floor on my house 24" centers and was very happy with it.

Because of the chemicals used in the treating process, you have to use specially coated fasteners, or it will eat them up. I believe you can use stainless or epoxy coated screws, but I'm not 100% on that.

Not sure on the grade, but it was 23/32" Advantech sold by Lowes.

If all you can find close to home is Marine grade, you'll be fine with that. It'll save you a little weight.

You should be able to run 3/4" any way it will fit on your frame. It is very strong. I'm assuming you are saying the tongue doesn't continue back past the axle, so you will have 2'x8' openings?

I used 3/4 green treat cross ways on mine and it has been good, but my tongue does run all the way to the back. I built my house in 2004. Did you check to see if one of the big box stores in Baxter can order the advantek for you?
