Yeah, that was also some of the info I found. Smelt were abundant in the 70's, disappeared, then came back. Do you know if rainbow trout yearlings are still stocked? With or without trout, this lake looks promising anyway, but trout are always a fun bonus.

I think Rainbows were tried as fingerlings for a while but that was discontinued. I've never fished the lake, I just know they are trying to get smelt numbers down to get walleye numbers up.

Also lots of other good bass lakes in the area, especially if you like fishing lily pads.

Based on the limited info I have on the lake, it has a high population of mostly small pike. Lot's of smallies, and a decent walleye population. Walleye fingerlings are stocked every other year. I'm guessing it could be a good night fishing lake.

The only records I could find of lake trout stocking was back in the 70's, and after a couple attempts they gave it up due to poor survival. I'm gonna e-mail the DNR and see if I can get some up to date info.
