nige
I am looking at getting Irish Setter Men's Black Bear 400g 10" Hunting Boots for hunting. Anyone have any reviews on them or other boots I should look at? Thanks
ETH310
Check out Cabela's Perfekt 10" hunter boots by Meindl. I've tried the rest and these are the best boots I've ever owned. Super comfortable and durable.
yakfisher
I recomend lightweight and uninsulated unless you plan on doing your hunting late in the year insulated is too much in my opinion. I like Bean Kangaroo boots, but I also have some insulated Setters for cold December hunts. I typically get out for 15+ days a year. This one looks like we could have lots of walking to do. CaptainMusky
Whatever boots you get make sure they are lace to toe stile boots. Little insulation is need buy gore TeX is required. I have some danners that are awesome. Leather, lace to toe and gore TeX are my necessities for a good boot.
PurpleFloyd
I use Danner Pronghorns that are insulated. The insulation doesn't bother me in the early season but is appreciated at the end of the season. I believe this will be my 5th year with them and they are holding up well. nige
Thanks for the replies. Think I am going to go with the Cabelas ultralight by Meindil
jjz
for a extra pair of boots get a pair rubber/neoprene boots (mucks, la crosse alpha burlys, etc), these type of boots dominate leather/ gore tex boots in mostly wet, swampy hunting and in dry grassy areas are very good. I now use this type of boot for most pheasant hunting and half of my grouse hunting. imo these type of boots stay dry and last the longest for the dollar and are very comfortable.
