How's everyones bowfishing season going thus far?

My son is having a lot of fun. No giants but a few over 20lbs

We have done a few night tournaments and have either been in

1st or 2nd place. We are just sitting here waiting for the spawn and shooting the 30 pounders maybe by this weekend the water will warm up enough.

isn't the spawn all over as far as the metro area rivers and lakes go?

We haven't seen any evidence of the carp spawning yet,however it should happen soon with the temps they are predicting. Water temp is the key,around 65 to 75 degree water will get them moved up and spawning.

I have seen rolling/spawning fish is some flooded back waters but nothing in the lakes yet. Should see it soon if we get some sun and warm temps.

Good to hear everyone is finding some success. We've been putting up bigger and bigger numbers as the season goes on and we get all the kinks worked out of the new set up on the boat. Shot 76 last Friday night for 2 guys with far from good shooting, all fish still were carrying eggs which was a little surprising seeing as the water was already 69 degrees. Like everyone else we are on high alert for the spawn to start which should be any day now. Hope everyone finds continued success throughout the remainder of the summer.

i don't have a boat, so I'm restricted to creek shooting. I have had a good year. the fish are spawned out where I can shoot, but still pick up a few. my creeks were dirty again yesterday after a fast inch and a half of rain,, hopefully they clear up again soon!

the carp are definitely going shallow in the clear lakes right now- might be eating sunny eggs as the little guys are on their nests right now
