Meh.....that sums up my morning of fishing

Felt more like October 2nd instead of June 2nd.

Post frontal plus post spawn and extremely clear water does not equal success.

Started out with a swim jig shallow around docks and clumps of Curly leaf trying to locate any fish still up shallow. That resulted in 1 small bass and losing 2 jigs to Pike, also landed 3 upper 20's low 30" fish.

Spent the rest of the morning fishing a rock point. Fished 3 feet 20 feet. Shakey head and a 4" finess worm got me bit and put 2 small bass in the boat. Drug a 3/8oz Football jig and chunk trailer all over the rocks. Lost a jig and had a nice bass come unbuttoned at the boat.

Slow rolled a big spinnerbait down the point and put a 33" Pike in the boat.

Need the weeds to grow and the water to warm so I can start chuckin frogs an cranking weed flats.

Hey, Everybodys definition of success is different but when I hear of a guy catching a handful of small bass plus a few quality pike - that doesn't sound like a bad day to me. I question my abilities and the lake I fish when I hear of a lot of folks having 50 bass days. Maybe I just don't have the mojo but that has never happened to me. On the other hand, it is always a thrill to be out there and I feel thrilled with a 15 fish day. Since my second favorite fish is pike - landing a nice one can make a day!!!

Yeah, Sunday AM was a little chilly. I had a long sleeve t-shirt, a sweatshirt and a jacket on and I was still cold.

I actually had an OK morning in the metro. Fish definitely did not start doing much until the sun came out though. Got a few fish on swim jigs in some emerging pads and along a couple inside weedlines, but it was definitely tough getting them to chase anything most of the morning. Ended up catching most of my fish on a straight tailed worm on inside weedlines. Some of the fish were *really* shallow (pulled a couple out of about 8" of water).

Lots of fish on beds too. Could have caught quite a few if I'd been bed fishing...

Considering the post cold front and that it was my first bass trip of the year so I spent half the morning trying to remember how to fish it wasn't too bad.

Got out there for our first tourney on a NE metro lake and within the first hour had our limit of fish in the locker. Found a nice shallow area with a 20' drop off, threw a Yum Dinger shallow and just dragged it down the drop off, most of them were 12" to 13" but we had our limit so now it was time to find the biggin's. Got back into some lilly pads with a brush hog, my partner stayed with the worm and we proceeded to replaced the small ones with a few 15" and 16" and then he picked up a nice 19". Weather was a little chilly in the morning but by 10:30 it was perfect out, just a little breeze and the sun was shining. Ended up in 2nd place with a couple of biggins and the rest aroun 15"

Just a different perspective of how lakes can differ, fishing was good

I was on a camping trip up by St. Cloud.

Friday night fishing was lights out.

Saturday/Sunday was dim. Still managed fish, but far and few between for having 4 lines in the water.

I wore shorts and a cutoff t-shirt all weekend - I think i was a little optomistic friday when i packed my clothes - or lack there of frown BRRRRR

Just got back from the Chisago Lakes area and did fairly well. Fished for about 3 hours and boated 17 fish. Mostly small males 1-2 lbs. in 5-6 ft. of water. water temp was 67.4 degrees and lots of weeds all over the lake. Tried the first drop off at plus or minus 10 feet and found the girls. 3 at 4-5 lbs. Overall a really nice first time out. Really surprised at the warm water and weed growth.

All post spawn and the beds were full of crappies and sunnies.

I agree. Was on Chisago Saturday, don't know how many we caught...100+ by 2pm. Biggest, maybe 3.5lbs. Once the sun came up, they were biting baits on the bottom a little wierd...tied on a Prop Bee 2 and it was lights out!!! If I went 3 casts without catching one, I was surprised. When the wind picked up, switched over to a noisier NipIDidee...and had the same results...as well, they were pounding PopR's.

I think every bass in the lake was looking up!

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
