Rustic truck camping on a lake

Don't mind driving way north to get off the beaten path and away from the crowd. My only requirements are the ability to use my truck camper and have access for my 18' bass boat. Good fishing lake a plus. Any recommendations?

depending where you want to go you may need to stay at a resort or campground. most public accesses don't allow overnite camping. nuttin says ya cant head into the boonies for the nite though.

Up in lake county there a few. Nine Mile, Wilson Lake, Harriet Lake, there are more but not familiar with all them.

Check out the dnr and forest service websites. They have plenty of campgrounds located on lakes.

The hard part to find is something off the beaten path and away from crowds. I assume by that you want to find a place to camp where you are by yourself without other people or campsites around. You can find such a thing but you get really limited when you also require the site to have access for a truck, camper, and an access for an 18' bass boat.

I can't offer any suggestions that meet all your criteria. If you want to get off the beaten path it usually means leaving at least one of the luxury items behind.

Smaller state forest campground should work, but most are not on bass boat freindly waters.
