Looks to me like Logano will be eating the wall in Martinsville as Tony was Po'ed after that block. Then to take out Denny.

Logano is a little weasel and will get his soon. The fool woill hurt someone soon driving like he is. What an silly-me.

Hope Denny is alright.

Way to go Jr, now #1.

Best California race I've ever seen, and that has nothing to do with the last lap or the post race scuffle. It probably didn't hurt to have some well timed cautions to bunch up the field at the end, either. The restarts were absolutely crazy and everyone could run different lines on the track and still keep up. It was amazing there wasn't a wad of wrecked cars on any of those last restarts.

What a comeback for the #88. Big time, right there.

Tony's comments were hilarious and I'm still laughing. He goes on his tirade and then replies to the reporter with a "thank you". Classic. grin

As Cole Trickle once said, "This is gonna hurt":

Tony on Logano: "If he ever turns down across in front of me again, I don't care what lap it is, he won't make it to the other end of it."

Tony: "After he threw a water bottle at me like a little girl, we'll go at it now."

Stewart calls Joey "nothing but a little rich kid who's never had to work for anything in his life." Says "he needs to be taught a lesson."

Pretty decent race....hope Denny is ok. I don't think Logano intentionally tried to slide up and wreck him. I like smoke but kind of funny that one of the all time best blockers is calling out the kid. I think he is just tired of getting pushed around and is now pushing back and it's [PoorWordUsage] everyone off.

It been sounding like people in Joey's corner of the ring have been telling him to stand up for himself a lot more lately. Even Darryl flat out said Joey was gonna have to punch somebody to start getting respect.

Careful what you wish for...

I don't think Joey felt too good about wrecking Denny and getting Tony hot, you could hear he didn't have conviction in his words during the interview. It was more like they were words rehearsed for a different outcome. The boy tries to be tough and winds up being a schmuck today. Bad idea overdriving the corner on old tires underneath your nemisis.

This just in: Today in Fontana, Joey Lagano has decided to sponsor Target Corp on a pro bono deal. He began wearing the company's signature bullseye on his back at the end of today's race....

Tweet that.

Joey did exactly what he should of done on that restart protect the lead

I think its called racing

not ok you are inside of me I'll let you go so you can win i'll take 2nd or 3rd

Tony is the same hot head he has always been close winning but got beat

I'm pretty sure he took out half the field last year on the last lap

at dega Mikey could say the very same thing tony said

as far taking out denny maybe alittle over his head but many many drivers have done the same thing

dunno about him being alittle rich kid ...lol

was a good race though

Yup, It was racing for the win in that race, not for points to make the Chase. I've watched NASCAR for 40+ years and have seen many Hall Of Fame drivers do the same thing as Logano did. Stewart IMO was a frustrated driver for many reasons after the race and took it out on a young driver instead of looking at the real cause of Stewartt-Haas Racing failing to do as well as expected.

Stewart reacted much like Gordon did with Boyer after Martinsville, Newman pushed Boyer under Gordon and Gordon moved down-maybe with a little help from JJ. So blame someone out of frustration even though it's something you have done many times yourself. Just my thoughts. 2csmile

Great race and great finish.

Tony made a bunhole of himself, but even that was exciting.. smile

Other than tony stewart, after what hamlick did to logano at Brstol is anyone really that surprised ?

Payback, plain and simple.

Tony complains about crew members jumping in. laugh

What about team owners ?

If tony wants a good ol fashioned hockey fight, let logano and hamlick fight it out and stay the hell out of it.

Tony needs to calm down. Hamlin will be back. And make the chase.

Not so sure about Logano.

Awesome race! Its too bad Kyle Bush had to win, that guy is a little weasel if I ever saw one. He had the best car all day hands down though. If Tony would have been in front of Logano he would have thrown a block in a second! Rubbins racin and Logano did what he had to do to win a race. It was really awesome to see Junior race how he did and end up with a second place and take the points lead though!! Go 88!

For Joey to recieve some respect, he will have to earn it and doing what he does, will not earn him a thing.

Denny gave Joey tons of room and Joey maybe did not do it on purpose but he is smart enough to realize when you run low and that hard, he knows where the car will go coming off a corner. Only one place to go and that is up right where Denny was. Then to wipe out ones teammate.

I doubt that Joey wants to go up and punch many of the other drivers as he will find himself laid out, espically Smoke.

Nothing wrong with racing hard for a win but there are times when one does not push it so hard you crash others out and he had to know when he went into the corner that hard it was going to be an issue with Denny up high.Joey earned zero respect making that move.

One can win races without doing what he did. Looks to me like the team owner has some issues with his drivers getting along.

Blockin is racin and rubbin is racin, theres always a risk of something happening at 190mph. Its racing and every driver knows the risk.

I know when we go to the bigger races with our modified, my son would never and I hope he never blocked another driver. Seems he does none of that rubbin is racing either. Yes, he does win his share of races also and has alot of respect from many of the top modified drivers in the nation. The drivers that race against him know he will not and does not hit other drivers for the win. If the car is not good enough, then you settle for the position you are in and drivers respect you for racing that way. NO need to wrcek ones car or anothers to maybe make 1 pass, drivers will hate you for that or at least the better drivers.

One can run side by side for laps without hitting the other driver in the side of the car. It's called car control and knowing what your car can do and what it will not do.

We race on dirt and I would have to believe it is much harder to have total control on dirt than asphalt as the dirt gives much more. Alot less bite.

I will say this, it's good for the fans as there is more action on the track. Can liven up a boring race for sure. The Gen 6 cars looked much better for this race, hope that continues.

Right or wrong, I am sure Joey is going to be going for a ride in the next few races. Just hope noone gets hurt.

I didn't quite understand Smoke's beef with Logano. Everybody blocks in NASCAR. I'm not saying that it's right or wrong, but it happens. Just like seeing Earnhardt dump Terry Labonte at Bristol back in the 90s, there are repercussions from blocking.

Racing gets emotional. Smoke and the Busch brothers are three of the biggest hotheads because they let their emotions control their actions. I don't read too much into it.

I agree skunked. Smoke would have done the same thing more than likely.

My issue is with Joey and they way he crashed out Denny in this race. He had to know pushing his car that hard and low on the track that he was going to end up going way high off the corner. I thought they were going to take out the 18 also as one car came darn close to Kyle's rearend.

Joey blocking Smoke sure helped out Jr as he went high and Smoke had to get out of the throttle so that bottom line slowed, Jr was high and passed alot of cars before the caution flew. If not for that Jr was more than likely at 15th at best.

Well I guess If i were in nascar or any other racing sport. If the white flag is out i would have no problem giving the guy ahead of me a love tap if I feel in would get me the WIN. And I would expect anything lesser of my opponents. You got to do what you got to do. Of course you would hate to see someone get hurt over the deal like Hamlin and his fractured back.

Tom,

Not sure if your post where you quoted mine was in agreement or disagreement. Or maybe just elaborating on a few points...??? I think we're more in agreement about things after reading your other post.

One thing though, Joey and Denny aren't team mates this year and maybe the reason is the fact that the two never did get along very well. Joe Gibbs apparently knew he had to make some changes.
