luckycrank
Andbody her have any experiance with the Proview tranducer ?? I am in the market for a new ducer and since the last 3 tri-beams since 12/31/11have proven to be fragile and unstable.. I am thinking a Proveiw is in order. how ever I rarely ever used my 8/20 degree functions before maybe I would be fine with just a 12 degree any thoughts ? McGurk
There is some talk in another thread relating to this very question. Try doing a search for "vexilar tri-beam" on the left hand side of the page. Lots of good data here from the last month or two if you look. Whisker Warrior
I just recently purchased one and found i like it better than the tri-beam i had used before. There is a good video explaining its key features put out by the guy who helped develop the proview for vexilar(youtube vexialr proview vs tri-beam). Basically what i took from it is the proview allows you to manually adjust your degrees using the gain. WAY less interference with this ducer than any ive had before. Crappyfisherman
Learning to use the Low Power mode in shallow water really made a big differance for me. The Pro View is amazing once you fiqure it out.
Jim Uran
The proview is built tougher, without having multiple crystals in the transducer housing it is built to last. It's a 9 degree transducer and the crystal in the transducer has thicker walls to help block interference and to come show a clearer picture below. I have had zero problems with mine, and I love it. Lawrence Luoma
Going into this season I thought I was going to be using the Pro-View ducer in deep water and a Tri-Beam ducer in shallow. I have found I'm using the Pro-View in both shallow and deep water this year. Now I don't think I'll ever switch back. Pro-View just rocks!! dan z
Does this pro view work with the older fl-18?
Lusid
Does this pro view work with the older fl-18? Any series that has "FL" it will work!New question - how does this perform in under 10FOW? Do you have to use Low power or reduce the gain ?FL-18 user here.
Crappyfisherman
Both, the Pro View is very powerfull.I use low power mode in shallow water or weeds and most of the time have gain set as low as possible. If it is a very soft bottom you may have to turn it up a little. It also depends on the size and reflectability of your lure or bait as to how the transducer picks it up. BartmanMN
If anyone one purchased a Proview and just do not like it and want to trade for a tri, let me know.
Lawrence Luoma
I'm using the Pro-View on low power in anything less than 20FOW.
wishing for walleyes
I have the proview on my fl-20 and also have the fl-22 with the tribeam. The fl-22 in 8 fow is way better then the proview in 8 fow because of the 20 degree transducer.Bigger cone shows the fish and the jig better.I may just get a 19 degree transducer just for shallow water. In deeper water the pro view is awesome.
