Scott K
I wanted to, b ut I need to do a little more research. I have thousands of maple trees on my land, but I am not even sure which maples they are, or even which ones I need. I have seen the process done before, but I have never done it myself. Maybe next year, but I have said that now for 10 years.
pushbutton
Go for it Scott, a maple is a maple. Yes, sugars are best, but I use silvers and boxelder. Maybe we could work out a deal since I had next to no rain last year on pure sugar sand, and looking like a second year in a row without any sap
Gordie
You could tap pine trees if you wanted too, just takes allot more work and more product to refine.
Rick G
I haven't made any in a few years. I think it's time to get back into it this spring. The finished products {syrup, sugar} are so much better quality than the stuff at the grocery store that it's worth the effort.
