The springs are really what hold your suspension extended. Those are likely toast. Finding a used set may not be difficult, but at that vintage who knows how good they really are. Perhaps checking out the shade tree or some other catalogs to find a new set would be a better route.

Shocks on that sled are likely oil only, meaning they are not a gas charged shock. Those are probably toast as well. You should be able to compress it, but it should have resistance and then it should extend to its full length on its own. You cannot rebuild these kind of shocks so you will have to replace them, but those are relatively easy to come buy.

If money allows upgrade to gas shocks (even if used) because these can be recharged.

Stand on the rear bumper then jump off. If the tail snaps up your shock it shot. If it raises slow its good. The shock isn't going to have any lift, it'll just dampen the bumps.

A new set of heavy duty(405)springs will help but it isn't going to be a huge change.

Of coarse set the preload up on the rear springs. After that its doubtful you took care of the tail sag.

If you set the preload up high on the front skies you've shifted weight to the rear and would make the sag worse.

The front shock on the skid has a coil spring. If its adjustable crank up the preload. If it isn't adjustable then move the shock to the rear mounting hole. You'll have to drop and remove the skid to do that. Next you'll have to remove the limiter straps to get to move the shock position. While you have the skid out, raise the rear springs retaining point(drill new hole) to give you a little more preload. Note that you still have the ability to adjust your preload like normal.

Now when you get off the sled the tail will rise to its full travel.

If you need new shocks and springs($150- $225) and plan on keeping the sled for a while I'd look for a used skid off an Edge with rebuildable shocks.

Or if it stays down it's shot as well. Look to see if you have an adjuster on it? It may just need to be adjusted? confused
