Single reed calls

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am looking for a good sounding single reed duck call that has a natural sound both loud and soft. The price range I am hoping to find is less than $30.00. Does anyone have any suggestion on good ones, or ones to stay away from?? I usually use a double reed, but wanted to have more variety this year.

Thanks much

buck gardner signature series are the single reeds that i use. i think this call is very easy to blow, sounds like a duck, and can be quiet enough when you need it to be. has been a good call for me and is around $30.

good luck finding a call.

How about you just save up some extra cash and get yourself a Foiles Migrators SMH and have yourself a good old time! I would not give mine up for nothing!

The Foiles SMH is a good call, but I think mat is looking for a duck call. I have many different duck calls and the one that I found that sounded the best was the DR-85. It isn't a single reed, but it can get loud and soft and still sound very ducky. They only run about 10-15 bucks and in my opinion are the best call for the money.

I agree with High ball.

I got a Quackhead last year and it is the first single reed that I like. I can get a whole range of sounds and volumes.

Good call, reasonable price.

I also like Duck Commander calls, but I think that all the ones I have are all double reed calls.

Huntnfish---Great line..may be a good call, but he is looking for a duck call. I agree, I love the sounds you can make with a 10 dollar double reed call. You may not win a calling contest down in Stutgart with it, but you will shoot ducks in MN with it.
