Visor won't stay up

2001 Chevy Blazer 4 dr

The drivers side visor keeps folding down, it did have a slight sag to it before. But know it won't stay up at all. What can be done?

I had to replace one in an Impala a while back. I took apart the old one to see what broke and it was a plastic piece that holds tension on the shaft. Didnt look like something that I could do a decent repair on so we found a good one cheap at the recycle yard. New ones are over 70 bucks.

I agree replace it. Or remove all the cds, paperwork, sunglasses from it. It is not meant to hold 5 lbs of stuff.

A couple well placed strips of velcro might be a good redneck fix

Any good redneck worth his salt would raid the wife's Velcro stash from her sewing kit and use that to hold it to the headliner. second method would involve duct tape and the third option is a screw through the visor into the headliner.

I found one at my local mechanic, they had an old parts blazer out back with the visor in it. Got it cheap.
