Crappies are biting and only on a dead stick!

My girlfriend and I went out yesterday....cold but we found the crappies! Biting only on a dead stick.....could not coax them in for nothing. Could not twitch, wiggle, or jig or the fish would leave.

Had to watch your spring bobber go down a 1/2 inch and set the hook!

My gf caught a 15.75" that I think i am going to mount for her.

That is a monster crappie on the bottom right. That must the one that your gf caught!

I had to jig for mine last night--------not as nice as yours either,biggest was little over 12 inches

caught mine on forage minnow/ratlin flyler with minnow sat a.m. & they hit hard

If they want dead stick, give 'em dead stick. There's times I just lay my rod on the ice and watch the spring bobber.
