hunt fish repeat
Seems pretty simple to me, if it is on the bottom it does'nt float if it's still recoverable by boat it's floating. I believe the whole point of the law is so the CO's don't have to risk their lives in late season to clean up other peoples messes.
LMITOUT
Not meant to be an advertisement, just showing the aforementioned Zack Shack and its ability to handle navigable waters.
Schleichenator
If I can't sink my old junk houses in the lakes, how am I supposed to make that secret structure I need to catch my endless supply of walleyes? (KIDDING)
knoppers
sounds like a good law to me, I must have a insulated house. the 50ft rule is not right in my opinion. these are public waters, so if I set up, I have a 50 foot radius around me that I claimed as mine, stay away! most fisherman won't get that close, I always like to find my own private spot, as I don't like fishing in community holes. so I can see this moving to the soft water season, better not drive your boat near me, this is my water. trapperdirk
Man oh man who comes up with these laws and it would be interesting to see how they would enforce this law before the fact. That would be like charging someone with the [PoorWordUsage] and scoop law if you weren't carrying a baggy yet the dog didn't want a [PoorWordUsage] .lolI can just see and hear it now . Officer stops person " Sir have you got a baggy with you to [PoorWordUsage] and scoop " . answer No .. Well your in violation . LOL TD
PurpleFloyd
Maybe there is a market for all of those unused airbags that get wasted when a used car is sent to the crusher. Mount a bunch of them on a house with a sensor that sets them off when it gets wet. of course you will have to be much more careful where you pee. Ben626
could this law ever happen in Minnesota?? Do ice castle's, Yetti's or some of the rv edition type house float? I would'nt think they do. Are people really pulling these big house's on and off everynight?
LMITOUT
I don't believe many leave their houses out overnight unattended in ND due to the fact that many don't live close to lakes and you don't have lake shore development like you do in MN. Most ice fishermen in ND are day-trippers which makes this law kinda frivolous and more of a CYA as far as the state is concerned. Plus, North Dakotan's are smart enough to get their shelters off the ice before it sinks anyway.
Joe15
They just passed this law in SD when fishing on the Missouri River so it should be interesting.
noodlerod
I love the 50' rule MN should adopt
leech~~
Wait and see, the next thing they will want is a roof hatch so people can get out once their house floats, but "sinks" enough not to to get the doors open!
