uffdapete
i use the HT ice sandals the ones that have screw heads for the grippers and they work fine I have the HT's too. Traction is ok but the heel end isn't large enough to stay on larger boots like LaCrosse Ice Kings, even after tightening repeatedly. Also 3-4 screws have come out of the bottoms too after wearing them a half dozen times.
NKLCOLT1911
how are those microspikes at staying on an ice king and how does the rubber resist stretching?
Coon
Kahtoola guys, are you wearing them on Pak or bunny boots. Just curious about sizing on fat boots. Just got a pair and put em on my size 13 bunny's. they go on kinda tight but they should be ok.

slipperybob
I use Grivel. Run for flags or jump pressure ridges for fun.
crappie getter
Would the stableicers be better for all around use. or are the kahtoola cleats fine for off ice use. just look like they could be damaged walking on snow covered pavement or roads. I like the look of the kahtoola cleats but would like cleats that i could walk off the ice and across icy rocks and hard surfaces to vehicle or around home driveway etc without wrecking them. nbsmith
I'm just curious...what is everyone's beef with Yaktrax? I've had a pair for about 4 yrs and have nothing but good to say. When you look at them and put them on, it seems like they might fall off easily, but they stay on great! I'm sure the type/style boot plays a key role in how well they stay put.I just googled the Microspikes, and although I like my yaktrax...the microspikes will get a hard look when it's time to replace them. jvb724
I have the Yaktrax and have no problem with them. I especially like the velcro strap that goes over the front of the boot to secure them and keep them from falling off. No problems so far and on my 4th year with them. I think the problem for me with them is the rubber is not as beefy as the katoolas and they stretch to much to get em on a big pair a bunny's like mine
jbird68
I have a pair of the YakTrax XTR's and I have had not issues with them and I feel very safe. I don't slide around when drilling a hole by hand like I did with the Cabela's boot chains.
Alagnak
It's been mentioned before I'm sure- but I just don't see why people put up with all of the cleats out there that wear out, fall off, don't work, don't fit, etc. I must have tried six different kinds over the years from $10-$50 and none of them last for various reasons and they don't always fit to different boots. You can buy a 50 count $2 box of 3/8'' sheet metal hex head screws and be done with it. Any normal winter boot/pac boot has an extremely thick sole and you can just put a few in on the traction lugs and be done with it. Put them in early season for a few weeks and again late season or leave them in all winter it doesn't matter- same holes, no damage. Rarely do they fall out. $2 and a screw gun- it works, it's cheap, it's easy.
