This is my favorite time and conditions to hunt pheasants in. Just somthing about watching a rooster explode out of snow and cattails.

this time of year requires super stealth quiet mode, but if you do it right it can make for some fun hunting.

Best time of the year no doubt. Cattails and roosters are as good as it gets. Haven't replaced my ace cattail rooster booster from last year yet but still managed to track down a rooster in the snow on Saturday. Hard to believe you can ever shoot one this time of year after tracking one and seeing the maneuvers they make.

I love the cats and this year there is not much ice to worry about getting thick enough. Glad my dog likes to work cattails.
