Got the clam bati puck on the way in and the way out. We missed out on the Eagle Claw buckets at 10, but hung around for the 1:00 give away. That was as close to black friday-esque mob shopping as I would care to get, but I did get a bucket.

I don't think the people running the show were impressed either, about five minutes after getting the bucket, there was a very terse call over the PA system for someone from their booth to come to the show's administration office ASAP.

I got some good deals at the Reed's booth. Got a $69 rod/reel combo for $49 and then got 20% off of that, and a free hat!

There were a lot of people there today, it was kind of hard to get into some of the booths. Thorne Bros was mobbed as well at the show. I agree that they needed to better advertise that there was stuff up on the upper level, I am sure that a lot of people missed out on that area.

Go into the show, go along the left wall into the walkways and then up the escalator. We're hidden back in the corner smile

We're in a very poor location. Traffic there was poor at best.

I was there yesturday and spent about 2 hours. 2 weeks after back surgery that was enough for me. I missed that whole area. Kind P'd about that. Didn't see any kind of signage for it either.

I found ya! Nice to finally put some faces with forum names. The cooking seminar had open seats as well. They had some good humor and I got to be a judge for the three Goose Antler recipe finalist. All were very good and sitting for a half hour was a welcome break from the crowds.

Scored a hella deal on a new Frabill Trekker DLX I've been talking about.

Trekker DLX $400

Hyfax AND Cover for $50

Frabill Fleece Jacket for $70

Free Frabill hat and depth bomb w/lanyard

Not bad considering the Trekker DLX MSRP is $499.

Also ordered a TUC Precision rod with graphite handle and black anodized rec guides. ETA 2 weeks. TUC guys were great to talk to at the booth.

Plus the free Clam puck. Some nice eye candy at some of the booths too. I would like to win a free vaca in FL. smile

Got a really good deal from Marine General on the Black Frabill Ice Suit - $200 for both the bibs/jacket and then the reps tossed in 2 frabill ball hats.

A few other good deals as well...but the ice suit that was the big one

Got a LX 6 for $520 with the marcum gift bag. I felt like it was a good deal. Thoughts?

Sounds like a good deal to me. Cheapest I could find them for on-line is $580. I've been drooling over those for the last week not sure if I will get one this year or not. I went to Cabelas to look at the display model but the battery was dead. Screen looked a bit smaller than I thought it would sitting next to the LX-7 but I couldn't turn it on to get a feel for the picture. Let us know how it works out for you.

I was at the show today and picked up a Striker Ice Climate suit from Thorne Bros. According to the Striker rep on hand Thornes was the only vendor offering a deal on them so i got the suit after tax for $389 plus a free pair of Striker mitts. Had a choice between mitts or gloves but i felt the mitts were higher quality. Along with a HT rigger and some frre jigs and a clam bait puck at the door for free i came out way ahead. It was definitely crowded and difficult to see everything i wanted so i missed out on some things i didnt want to fight a crowd to look at. Probably saved me some money being so crowded lol.

Striker Ice Climate suit $389 after tax with a free pair of Striker Mitts. Suit from Thornes and mitts from Striker booth.

That's cheaper than striker themselves were selling them for, and I even asked about show specials and was told e everyone at the show was on MAP pricing.

Way to many people in the main area, Wilkins Auditorium was more my pace. My wife was a judge for the recipe contest with MNCRPGUY. She was kind enough to bring me 1/2 of her samples. The crappie sandwich was the BOMB!

Did she vote for the Crappie sandwich? that was the recipe I submited. I can win a Clam Yukon TC if I get the most votes.
