They may be outdated but lowrance h20's are very easy to use and easy on your wallet. I have a expeditionC that works just fine

Do you have a "smartphone" yet?

The navionics app for the Iphone is like 10 bucks and its awesome. Accurate and easy to use. This way you always have your "GPS" with you if you have your phone with you and you dont have to carry around 2 different things.

How much money are you willing to spend? I'm in the same boat, getting old and I have a hard time seeing the smaller screens on most models so I've been looking at the Garmin Montana 600 or 650. I've found some deals on refurbished models but still looking at around $400 to $550.
