Flasher interference

Question for all of you about flashers interfering with each other.

Sales man the other night told me that Marcum flashers will not interfere with each other because once you get the on the same channel they will read fine. My friend tells me it doesn't matter what your using the flasher that is the more powerful one will always be clear and infere with the the weaker unit.

For example a marcum lx3 would interfere with a vx1 because its more powerful than the vX1.

Is there a clear answer to this or just opinions be tossed around, I've heard other theories as well.

Thanks.

Where the problem comes from is some of the older entry level units just did not have the interference rejection capabilities. Most newer units (last 8/9 years)are perfectly fine with each other. I have guys in the rentals running Marcum, Birds and Vexs together without problem, other than a little heckling back and forth over who has the better flasher.

I have seen the interference issues with the older ones first hand, especially in 30+ feet of water on lake of the woods. Johnny sold me an LX6 on Saturday, held the transducer together with a FL8 and there wasn't any feedback. Hopefully that will hold true when I am on the water as well. grin
