I went 2.5 last year and was wrong, frosty tatooed a 3.5 last year, since that buck body wise was quite a bit larger, I'll go with a good 2.5 year old so in a few months when you post 3.5 Frosty, I'll be 0 for 2 lol. Quit shooting those "tweeners" and put the hammer down on that caribou buck ! smile Completely kidding frosty, nice deer!

No doubt that old goat is a swamp legend, I never t-cammed that fella, I would love to know if he's still kickin, if he croaked what or when or why, that was super neat to know that buck was that buck year after year, I hope he surfaces on film next fall, that would be cool to miss him a year and have him re-surface, I will t-cam the spring fed water hole this winter and hope he shows, will send you my winter buck shots, 3 winters ago there were as best I could tell 17 different bucks on camera that winter, last winter was too odd to pinpoint em, bit tougher colder winter and that waterhole gets heavy use, seems as though a fairly mild start to muzzy season is enroute. My dad said if frozen he may try the swamp a couple times this muzzy season, he bought a rifle license and never went lol, anyway will look forward to the age, is that outfit from Madelia,MN done aging, I kept there number forever but haven't sent them one in many years ?

Got the email today. They aged him at 3.5 years old. The teeth wear on this jaw was quite a bit less than the one last year, so I was expecting 2.5 years old. Last year's was also was aged at 3.5

Here is a photo of last year (on top) and this year's (on bottom) lower jaw. This year's had less dentin (brown in the top of each tooth) showing. less wear on the molars (more pointed than last year) and the back cusp was more pointed than rounded. The back cusp on last year's was wore down and slightly sloped.

The back molar on last years deer broke of recently, so ignore that part smile
