Need a new Flashlight - Opinions / Advice

titelines

Question

I need a new flashlight and am looking for some help from those who know. I need one that's strong, almost industrial, dependable, re-chargeable, very bright and has a wider beam of light, rather than the narrow spot light I'm finding on a lot of them.

Will be used primarily at the cabin, walking at night and checking the woods for critters while the dogs are out doing their thing. Will also carry in the truck for emergencies etc.

I've checked a lot if sites and don't think I've found exactly what I'm looking for, although the Klutch Big Horn 1000 seems to maybe fit the bill.

Any insight on what you guys use would be great. Thanks!!

Watch the Big Boxes for great deals on flashlights. The hoildays always brings out special buys. I pick up a Mag LED last year that is awesome for both spot and flood and got it for a great price. Wish I had scored a couple more. Live and learn and hoping they bring back them this year! MY2CENTS

I don't know what your budget is but look at the Streamlight Strion LED. It is rechargeable, tough light weight and unbelievably bright. I haven’t used my big spotlight in the boat during duck season since getting one of these little beauties.

I just picked up a black n decker ION rechargeable spotlight...it looks like a radar gun as it is smaller than most spotlights and it has a run time of an hour on high beam and 6 hours on low beam...so far I am really impressed as it is like 750 lumens I think..picked it up at wal-mart for $50

I think the best deal in flashlights is a 3 pack at Costco for $20. Each has 200 lumens and runs off 3 AAA batteries. at that price, you can have plenty around. Every flashlight I have compared them to so far has failed to meet their performance.
