Help. FM Keeps Logging me Out.

Fisherman For a Lifetime

Question

Howdy,

This has been happening only for the past month.

If I check "Remember me on each visit" when I log in and go to any page, it shows me logged out and I cannot post.

Only way I can stay logged in is if I do not check that box.

How, specifically, do I get this corrected?

Thanks!

At the top of the forum page in the middle of the header it will say

Forum List, My Stuff, User List, Calendar, Active Topics, Search, & FAQ

click on "my stuff" a drop down window will appear on the bottom of the list will be cookies. click on that. this will take you to the clear cookies screen, once there click expire cookies. this will reset cookies for the site. after doing this try to log back in. if there is still problems then clear the cookies on your computer.

hope this helps.

Oh, I see. I clicked on expire cookies, still had the problem.

Then, I went into IE Tools > Int. Options > checked Delete browsing history, Temp. Int. Files & Cookies, & hit Ok.

Reopened FM, logged in, checked Remember me in each visit & am logged in ONLY on the forum List page. Each time I go into the sub-forum, it says I am logged out.

If I do not check Remember me on each visit, it doesn't log me out, but it will if I close the browser.

Ugh. Still have the problem. Any ideas what to do...???

in IE tool where you were try to delete saved passwords and then re log into all your sites you follow that need passwords. it may be that the saves passed word are associated with the old cookies and by re logging in I would guess it would reset your password to the new cookies for each site.

after that I can't think of anything else.

you can Contact Shack via his profile and send him a PM. he is the IT guy for the site.

here is a link to his profile :

I don't think it's the HSOforum, just your security settings. Somehow your computer is set to delete the browsing history daily, or you have your anti-virus software eliminating cookies/saved passwords frequently. With windows 7 Under tools, internet options, security, set it to medium-high.

Also under internet options, general tab, check on the settings by your browsing history. My PC is set to clear the history autmatically based on the size of the files. If yours is also set to auto by default, you my be running low on hard disk space so it's getting wiped out more frequently.
