New Decoy

A new decoy showed up in my mail box today. I found it online for a good price an couldn't pass it up. It is a little guy but the rest of my decoys are pretty good sized so I wanted to add something different. Hopefully it will swim well and bring in a few fish this winter.

Looks good. I've had very good luck with small decoys. Shamalex made me a really tiny decoy I really like.

Small fast decoys are alot of fun on a day when the pike are agressive. You can mess around with them and watch them try to catch it.

Trying to stick a dog fish outside the hole and caught the decoy line between the tines cutting it.

I have blast with my 3" perch decoy a no size limit lake in 3' of water, some days they get blast the decoy and when the reel pulls it to the surface they shoot back in the hole to find it. the action really gets the heart pumping.

The first test will probably be at the GTG so hopefully it will pull in a big fish.

I would add that small decoys that you just let sit on slow days can often bring in big fish. When fish aren't aggressive they will still sniff out a small decoy that is just laying around. I've speared some of my nicest pike on 3-5" decoys.
